Fashion Xchange Dress Agency Terms and Conditions

Fashion Xchange only accepts High Street and Designer items, we do not accept fakes or counterfeits. Sorry but we cannot accept lower end high street brands such as Florence and Fred, George, Primark, New Look etc. If in doubt please contact us to ask. Items to be sold can be brought into our store: Fashion Xchange at 41-43 West Street Swadlincote Derbyshire DE11 9DN where they can be left for checking.

A charge of £1.00 per garment is applied for administration fees and is payable upon acceptance of the items – Items will not be put out for the sale until the £1 per item is paid - This is not refundable whether the items sell or not. 

A charge of £1.00 per garment is applied for any items that the client requires to be advertised on our eBay shop. Final value fees are shared equally between FashionXchange and the seller, but FashionXchange will pay all postage costs, listing fees and paypal fees.  Items will not be put on eBay for the sale until the £1 per item is paid - This is not refundable whether the items sell or not. FashionXchange will advise whether they think items are suitable for eBay if in doubt. 

 *Clothing must be no more than two years old with the exception of accessories, hats and Ball Gowns.

 *Shoes will only be accepted with minimum or no wear.

We take items in on a Wednesday and a Saturday only. Please call to arrange an appointment. Out of hours appointments are available - 01283 208789 or email us at mail@fashion-xchange.co.uk and we respond within 24 hours. 

Items MUST be freshly laundered or dry cleaned in order for us to accept them for sale. *Collars, cuffs and linings must be checked for wear and tear. Buttons and zips must be intact. We reserve the right to reject any item offered for sales that do not meet our specifications, either in store or once the customer has left*. We do not and will not pay towards cleaning costs.

*Any unsuccessful items should be collected within ONE week of notification – If items are not collected within this time scale then items will AUTOMATICALLY be donated to charity of our choice or disposed of at our discretion. We will endeavour to make contact with clients regarding unsold items at every opportunity, however it is the clients responibility to know their key date for collection and make contact within 1 week of this date.

All items that are left with us will be processed within two working days and the client will be notified as to which items have been successful. The successful items will then go on sale for a period of a minimum 8 weeks. 

Items that have not sold - After the 8 weeks selling period FashionXchange will contact you via email, telephone call or text message at the end of the month that has been specified on the consignment form (Key Date). Any items that have not sold should be collected within ONE week of notification – If items are not collected within this time scale then items will AUTOMATICALLY be donated to charity of our choice or disposed of at our discretion. We will endeavour to make contact with clients regarding unsold items at every opportunity, however it is the clients responibility to know their key date for collection and make contact within 1 week of this date.

Items that have sold – Once sold the client receives the amount specified on the consignment form only.  If there is a minimum price that you would like for a garment please let us know via the consignment form when you bring it in and we will endeavour to meet your request, however, this is not always possible. If no amount is specified at time of drop off then FashionXchange shall use their discretion. FashionXchange pay out monies owed at the end of the selling period month which is specified on the consignment form – Please do not ask for monies beforehand to save embarrassment as this is none negotiable under any circumstances. All amounts agreed are FINAL.

Although FashionXchange have a duty of care, all items remain the property of the customer until sold or returned to them. All items left with FashionXchange are left at the client’s own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for the very rare occasion of theft, however, every care will be taken of all garments. Clients must also accept that customers will handle the items and try them on. On the rare occasion that any damage may occur then items will be returned to the client in this condition if not sold. All items in both eventualities above can be covered under your home insurance and FashionXchange will not pay out any monies for theft or damage.
